The INRIA Research Group TAO affiliated with Université Paris-Sud, and CEA Lab LETS, offer a full-time post-doc position in supervised machine learning from EEG (electro-encephalographic) signals.
The position is oriented toward the development of novel and algorithmically efficient techniques for two applications. The first one regards the anticipation of upcoming events, e.g. epileptic crisis in tight collaboration with medical researchers, based on extensive databases. The second one regards the exploitation of EEG signals for skill acquisition.
The candidate will tackle the algorithmic and fundamental challenges raised by the automatic construction of features (based on signal processing libraries and genetic programming) and the development of classifiers with a human in the loop (active learning and human-computer interaction).
Candidates must have a strong background in several of the following fields: statistical machine learning, signal processing, evolutionary optimisation, the art of programming, and interest in getting familiar with all of them.
The work will take place within the TAO group, in the beautiful campus of Orsay, 20mn south of Paris. The working language of the group is English.
Contact: Michele Sebag (sebag at lri dot fr) and Marc Schoenauer (marc dot schoenauer at inria dot fr) for additional information.
