Title: Deep Learning for skin disease diagnosis assistance

Abstract

We worked on skin lesion classification. Targeting medical help, we put emphasis on understanding the inner mechanism of neural networks. Our goal was to understand what triggers classification. Treating a neural network already trained as a black box, we developed several tools to visualise their neurons. It allowed us to detect the most impactful areas in the input picture, which helps to detect potential dataset biases.
